To All Wings Members,
As many of you have no doubt heard by now, Cameron Recreation Centre is set to be rebuilt with construction beginning in early 2023. We are so excited to let you know that the City of Burnaby has included us in the planning for the new facility, with full intention that we continue to provide programming to the community upon its reopening, as we have done for the past 43 years. We couldn’t be happier and more appreciative of the long standing partnership with the City of Burnaby that has made all of this possible.
After much discussion and research into alternative, feasible options the Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to put Wings on hiatus for the length of the build, beginning January 2023. We did not take this decision lightly and understand that it will be disappointing for all of the participants that have dedicated so much time to us. Three years may seem like a long time, but we are certain that it will fly by and wholeheartedly look forward to welcoming you back into a brand new facility!
We hope to have a celebration in December, honouring our 43 years in the current Cameron facility and look forward to seeing you all there.
